WHO'S THE GUY?
LORELEI™ CREATOR STEVEN A. ROMAN
Even though his last comic book might have been published in 1996 (prior to the release of Lorelei Vol. 2 #1 in 2002), writer Steve Roman has never been far from the worlds of costumed men and women that first inspired him to become a wordsmith.

In 1997, Roman’s short story "The Ballad of Fancy Dan" was one of the entries in the Marvel Comics-related prose anthology Untold Tales of Spider-Man. 1998 saw the publication of his first (ghostwritten) novel, Spider-Man Super Thriller: Warrior’s Revenge, starring the popular Marvel Comics character in a team-up with the Incredible Hulk against the Super-Skrull. Roman followed this up with the short story "Assault on Avengers Mansion!" - co-written with Chronicles of the Sea Dragon creator Richard C. White - for the prose anthology The Ultimate Hulk.

In June 2000, his first credited novel was published: X-Men/Dr. Doom: The Chaos Engine, Book 1, the first in a trilogy of novels starring the uncanny X-Men. Book 2, X-Men/Magneto, and Book 3, X-Men/Red Skull, were released in January 2002 and December 2002, respectively.

Among his current projects, Steve has completed work on the script for the ibooks, inc. graphic novel Sunn (see latest news for details).

Outside the comics industry, Steve has worked as an editor for BP Books—publisher of the Marvel Novels—and currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of ibooks, inc., a New York-based publishing company. Among the books he’s edited during - and after - his hiatus from comics are: Moebius' Arzach; Daredevil: The Cutting Edge; Gen13: Netherwar; Heavy Metal: F.A.K.K.2; Stan Lee's novel The Alien Factor; the Isaac Asimov Robot Mysteries trilogy (Mirage, Chimera, and Aurora); two Witchblade novels, Talons and Demons; Michael Turner's Fathom; Terminator 2: The New John Connor Chronicles; Gahan Wilson’s Gravediggers’ Party; and, yes, even Real-life Cinderella: The Story of Brandy and Britney Spears is a Three-Headed Alien. He hopes the world will forgive him for those last two.
